The Backup Buddy Police Support app is for police officers and staff in South Yorkshire, designed to help with mental well being issues. The App covers a range of problems faced by officers and staff in the Police service, such as nervousness, stress, PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder), despair, eating issues, self-harm and extra. It provides practical advice and help on how officers can keep good mental health, spot warning signs for themselves and others, plus recommendation on how to get help for themselves and colleagues. There are particular pathways mapped for help and support within South Yorkshire Police, including 24hr support for officers and workers. The App additionally contains officers' personal tales which users can relate to, resulting in feeling less isolated. General psychological health suggestions are offered, in addition to a listing of Useful Contacts and we now have a facility to share your story - to assist reduce the stigma in others.
